iHeartMedia has announced that Rob Scorpio has been named Senior Vice President of Programming for the San Diego/Riverside region, and that Kid Jay has been named Program Director of KGGI-FM in Riverside, effective immediately.

Currently, Scorpio oversees iHeartRadio’s six stations in Riverside/San Bernadino, while also acting as program director of KSSX-FM in San Diego and KGGI-FM in Riverside. In his newly expanded role, Scorpio will now oversee both markets, working closely with the programming, digital and promotion teams to develop and execute strategies that increase audience and ratings.
“Rob has successfully lead iHeartMedia’s Riverside stations for the last 4 years, and I’m thrilled that the entire San Diego market will now benefit from his tremendous programming experience and management insights,” said Melissa Forrest, Region President iHeartMedia San Diego/Riverside.
Scorpio brings more than 15 years of radio industry experience to his new position. As Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia’s Riverside/San Bernadino region, he managed multiple formats including CHR, Rock, Spanish, News-Talk and Sports. Prior to joining iHeartMedia in 2013, Scorpio worked as a media consultant and served as Operations Manager in Washington DC, and Vice President of Programming in Los Angeles, CA for various radio groups. Scorpio has also programmed top stations in Washington DC, Los Angeles, CA and Houston, TX.
“I’ve developed a great relationship with the team in San Diego over the last year and I can’t wait to be engaged with them on a daily basis,” said Scorpio. “John Peake is a hard to act to follow but I’m up for the challenge.”
Kid Jay, has enjoyed a successful career as a professional club and concert DJ. He joined KGGI-FM in 2003 and is currently the station’s nighttime host. Kid Jay will continue his on-air role at KGGI-FM while also assuming day-to-day programming operations of the station, which is a consistent ratings leader for the Riverside-San Bernadino market.
